Who doesn’t like science projects? Tornadoes in a bottle, model solar systems, and of course the iconic baking soda volcanoes. I love science projects, and this one was a perfect way to spend a long pandemic day. (more…)
About a year ago, the NYC Department of Education announced that there would be no state test. I was overjoyed. I remember thinking that, even though I couldn’t go outside, it would be nice that I wouldn’t have to go through the stress of a big test. And it was nice… a year ago. (more…)

This wonderful (read the “wonderful” here with sarcasm) pandemic has had a few good outcomes, like the wonderful (read the “wonderful” here without sarcasm) Yahtzee and Milo. But it has also had many bad outcomes, like the loss, stress, and pain that people are experiencing. (more…)
Mmmmm… I love brownies. Chocolatey, fudgy, easy to make goodness. So do my brother and my father (my mother is a chocolate hater, sadly). The thing about brownies is that they aren’t really a challenge to make. Why is this an issue? I thought you might ask. Well, I am pretty lazy, but when I bake, I want to actually challenge myself (but not too much). (more…)
Today, we have another pet post (she’s the last quarantine animal we’ve gotten, don’t worry!), and this time it is about our little cat, Yahtzee. (more…)
Hello! I’m back, and lately, I’ve been having a bit of writer’s block. What is there to write about on a travel blog when I can’t even travel? Nothing. But after much thought, I realized that I’m taking a bite out of the world, which could mean travel, but it also means pets, cooking, or school. It’s my blog, so I can write about, well, me! (more…)

Before visiting Saint Petersburg, there was a sense of foreboding. We had to get visas, which were really hard to obtain, we had to consider the fact that we were Americans visiting a not so pro-American government, and it was scary! Still, we found out that the people in Saint Petersburg were very nice, and the city was amazing. (more…)
When we got off the boat, we were ready to explore Helsinki, which ended up being my favorite stop on the trip so far. (more…)

We’re on our fourth stop on our big Asia trip and I’m not the least bit tired out! So far, I have crossed the biggest street crossing in Japan, eaten at the largest fish market in the world, climbed Mt. Fuji, and soaked in an onsen. That must be a record! Now we’re on to Kyoto… (more…)
